Nocturify AI Transparency
Version: 1.0
Effective:
Version: 1.0 Last updated: 8 August 2026
This AI Transparency notice explains how Nocturify uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to support nightlife discovery.
It should be read together with the Nocturify Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
1. Our core AI principle
Nocturify is built around one rule:
Nocturify determines the facts. AI explains the facts.
Artificial intelligence is not intended to decide what is true about a venue.
Authoritative product facts are determined by Nocturify’s own systems, verified data and deterministic logic.
AI may help explain, summarize or present that information in a more useful way.
2. What AI may be used for
Nocturify may use AI-assisted functionality in features such as:
- Home AI;
- Venue AI summaries;
- Ask Nocturify;
- future nightlife discovery or explanation features.
Depending on the feature, AI may help:
- explain why a venue is recommended;
- summarize current venue conditions;
- explain available nightlife options;
- compare suitable venues;
- answer supported nightlife questions;
- present verified information in more natural language;
- help users understand structured Nocturify data.
AI is intended to assist discovery, not replace the underlying factual systems.
3. What AI does not determine
AI is not the authoritative source for factual states such as:
- whether a venue exists;
- whether a venue is active;
- whether a venue is open or closed;
- venue opening hours;
- published events;
- LIVE status;
- Verified Activity;
- crowd conditions;
- queue conditions;
- atmosphere;
- report verification;
- GPS verification;
- NightMiles balances;
- favorites;
- account status;
- legal acceptance status;
- partner verification status;
- other deterministic product states.
These facts are determined by Nocturify’s structured systems and approved data sources.
AI may describe them, but it should not invent or override them.
4. Nocturify’s trust hierarchy
Nocturify does not treat every source of information equally.
In general, higher-trust sources take priority over lower-trust sources.
Our systems may prioritize information such as:
- deterministic Nocturify truth;
- validated live evidence;
- verified venue metadata;
- explicit user context and preferences;
- observed product behavior where appropriate;
- historical aggregated information;
- approved external sources;
- community or venue free-text information where supported;
9. general model knowledge.
General AI knowledge should not override verified Nocturify facts.
Where information is unknown, the system should treat it as unknown rather than ask AI to fill the gap.
5. Recommendations
Nocturify may use deterministic systems and AI-assisted explanations to support recommendations.
The underlying shortlist or ranking may consider factors such as:
- whether a venue is open;
- venue availability;
- distance;
- verified live activity;
- events;
- user preferences;
- venue type;
- music preferences;
- other approved product signals.
AI may explain why an option appears suitable.
AI is not intended to secretly replace the deterministic ranking process with an unrestricted model decision.
Commercial relationships with venues do not determine the underlying factual truth or allow venues to purchase changes to community-derived LIVE or Verified Activity information.
6. Home AI
Home AI may provide a short explanation of the current nightlife situation or recommendations based on Nocturify’s structured data.
The feature may use information such as:
- selected city;
- available venues;
- venue opening status;
- verified community activity;
- events;
- approved user preferences;
- other authorized recommendation inputs.
Where reliable live information is unavailable, Home AI should communicate that limitation rather than fabricate nightlife activity.
7. Venue AI summaries
Venue AI may summarize the current state of an individual venue.
Its output may be based on information such as:
- venue metadata;
- opening status;
- verified live activity;
- crowd information;
- queue information;
- atmosphere;
- published events;
- other authorized venue signals.
Crowd, queue or atmosphere information should only be presented where the underlying Nocturify evidence supports it.
If there is not enough reliable information, the system should say so.
8. Ask Nocturify
Ask Nocturify is designed to answer supported nightlife questions using Nocturify’s authorized data.
Supported uses may include:
- nightlife recommendations;
- comparing venues;
- finding events;
- filtering according to preferences;
- group-intent questions;
- crowd, queue or atmosphere questions where verified information exists;
- simple nightlife planning.
Ask Nocturify is not intended to be a general-purpose chatbot.
It may refuse, limit or safely fail when a question cannot be answered using reliable Nocturify information.
9. Current production AI state
At the date of this notice, Nocturify’s production environment operates with external AI-provider generation disabled.
This means that certain AI features may currently:
- use deterministic responses;
- use fixed explanatory templates;
- use safe fallback wording;
- be temporarily unavailable;
- operate without sending requests to an external language-model provider.
This controlled state is intentional while Nocturify validates safety, grounding, privacy, reliability and cost controls.
The availability and technical implementation of AI features may change as Nocturify develops.
10. Future external AI providers
Nocturify may use external AI providers in the future.
Before external provider processing is enabled in production, Nocturify intends to maintain safeguards including:
- deterministic factual truth before AI generation;
- bounded and approved evidence;
- provider kill switches;
- quotas and rate limits;
- cost controls;
- provider timeouts;
- output validation;
- grounding checks;
- safe fallbacks;
- privacy controls;
- monitoring and incident procedures.
Where future provider use materially changes personal-data processing, Nocturify will update the Privacy Policy and this AI Transparency notice as appropriate before such processing is introduced.
11. Data minimization for AI
Nocturify aims to send only information reasonably necessary for a supported AI task.
The current architecture is designed to avoid sending information such as:
- Your email address;
- password;
- authentication credentials;
- direct account identifier;
- raw GPS coordinates;
- unnecessary personal identifiers;
merely to generate an AI explanation.
Where user preferences are relevant, Nocturify aims to use only the preference information necessary for the specific recommendation or explanation.
12. User preferences and personalization
AI-assisted explanations may take into account preferences You have chosen to provide, such as:
- music preferences;
- venue preferences;
- nightlife preferences;
- selected city;
- other supported personalization signals.
These preferences may influence which options are relevant or how a recommendation is explained.
They do not authorize AI to invent facts about You or about venues.
13. Community data and AI
Community reports may contribute to structured signals used by Nocturify.
Before community information influences AI-assisted explanations, Nocturify may:
- verify eligibility;
- validate GPS requirements;
- apply reporting cooldowns;
- combine multiple reports;
- require minimum evidence;
- exclude unreliable reports;
- aggregate community activity.
AI is not intended to treat every individual report as automatically true.
14. Venue-provided information and AI
Authorized venue partners may manage certain information about their own venue.
AI may use eligible venue-provided information where appropriate.
However:
- venue-provided information remains the responsibility of the venue;
- commercial partnership does not make venue-provided information automatically more truthful than verified Nocturify evidence;
- venues cannot use partnership status to override community-derived LIVE or Verified Activity information;
- AI should preserve the distinction between venue-provided information and independent Nocturify signals where relevant.
15. AI limitations
AI and automated systems can make mistakes.
Possible limitations include:
- incomplete explanations;
- misunderstood user intent;
- awkward wording;
- delayed data;
- conflicting signals;
- unexpected output;
- failure to answer a supported question.
Nocturify uses technical safeguards intended to reduce these risks, but no automated system is perfect.
If AI-generated wording conflicts with authoritative structured Nocturify information, the structured information should be treated as controlling.
16. Unknown information
Nocturify follows an important rule:
Unknown means unknown.
Where reliable information is unavailable, Nocturify should not treat absence of evidence as evidence of a particular condition.
For example, insufficient live reports should not automatically mean that:
- a venue is empty;
- there is no queue;
- the atmosphere is good or bad;
- a venue is unpopular.
AI should communicate uncertainty rather than invent certainty.
17. Safety and real-world decisions
AI-assisted nightlife information is intended for discovery and convenience.
It should not be treated as:
- a guarantee of personal safety;
- emergency advice;
- medical advice;
- legal advice;
- security advice;
- transport advice;
- a guarantee of venue admission;
- a guarantee of crowd, queue or atmosphere conditions.
Nightlife conditions can change quickly and involve third parties outside Nocturify’s control.
Users remain responsible for their own decisions and safety.
18. Automated decision-making under GDPR
Nocturify may use automated systems to rank, filter or recommend nightlife options.
These systems are designed to support nightlife discovery.
Nocturify does not currently use AI or automated recommendation systems to make decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning users within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
19. AI and venue partnerships
Venue partnerships do not give venues the ability to purchase or control factual AI outcomes.
A Verified Partner badge may identify an authorized commercial or venue-management relationship.
It does not mean:
- the venue is ranked higher because it paid;
- the venue receives more favorable community truth;
- negative verified activity is hidden;
- AI is instructed to praise the venue;
- community reports can be overridden by commercial preference.
If Nocturify introduces sponsored or promotional placements in the future, they will be distinguished where appropriate and will not alter the underlying factual nightlife information.
20. Feedback and corrections
If You believe an AI-assisted explanation is inaccurate, misleading or inconsistent with the factual information displayed by Nocturify, You may contact:
support@nocturify.com
Feedback may be used to investigate product issues, improve safeguards and correct underlying information where appropriate.
21. Changes to AI functionality
Nocturify may:
- add or remove AI features;
- change AI providers;
- change models;
- change prompts or rendering systems;
- change grounding or validation controls;
- temporarily disable AI;
- use deterministic fallback behavior;
- introduce additional safety mechanisms.
Material changes affecting personal-data processing or user rights will be reflected in applicable Nocturify disclosures where required.
