Nocturify Community Guidelines
Version: 1.0
Effective:
Version: 1.0 Last updated: 8 August 2026
These Community Guidelines explain the standards that apply when You contribute information, submit reports, use community features, interact with venue-related functionality, or otherwise participate in Nocturify.
They form part of the rules for using Nocturify together with the Terms of Service.
Nocturify is designed to provide trustworthy nightlife information. Community participation should help other users understand what is actually happening at venues—not manipulate, promote, attack or mislead.
1. Be truthful
Information You submit to Nocturify must be provided honestly and in good faith.
Do not knowingly submit:
- false reports;
- misleading venue conditions;
- fabricated queue information;
- fabricated crowd information;
- fabricated atmosphere information;
- information about a venue You are not actually reporting on;
- deliberately outdated information presented as current.
If You are unsure about something, do not present it as certain.
2. Report what You actually observe
Community reports should reflect the situation You genuinely observe at the relevant venue.
Do not submit reports merely because:
- You like or dislike a venue;
- You want to promote a venue;
- You want to damage a competitor;
- someone asked You to submit a particular answer;
- You expect to receive NightMiles.
NightMiles reward participation. They do not reward dishonesty.
3. Do not manipulate Nocturify signals
You must not attempt to manipulate LIVE, Verified Activity, recommendations, NightMiles or other Nocturify signals.
Prohibited behavior includes:
- submitting repeated fraudulent reports;
- coordinating reports with others to influence a venue;
- creating multiple accounts for reporting;
- using bots, scripts or automation;
- intentionally bypassing reporting cooldowns;
- falsifying location information;
- exploiting technical errors;
- manipulating NightMiles rewards;
- paying or rewarding people for false reports;
- asking staff, customers or other persons to submit predetermined false information.
Venue owners, staff and partners are subject to the same rule.
A commercial relationship with Nocturify does not give anyone the right to manipulate community-derived information.
4. Location verification must not be bypassed
Some reports require GPS or other location verification.
You must not attempt to:
- spoof Your location;
- falsify GPS data;
- manipulate device location;
- use technical tools to appear near a venue when You are not;
- submit another person’s verified activity as Your own.
Location verification is used to improve the reliability of community information.
5. Respect reporting limits
Nocturify may apply reporting cooldowns, frequency limits, location requirements and other integrity controls.
Do not attempt to bypass these restrictions.
A feature being technically possible to exploit does not mean that the behavior is permitted.
6. Nocturify is not a review-war platform
Nocturify’s community reporting system is intended to describe current nightlife conditions.
It must not be used to organize campaigns against venues or to artificially promote them.
Do not:
- coordinate mass negative reporting;
- coordinate mass positive reporting;
- retaliate against a venue through false reports;
- use reports to settle personal or business disputes;
- submit misleading reports on behalf of a competitor.
Legitimate negative conditions may be reported honestly. This rule does not require You to submit favorable information.
7. Venue partners do not control community truth
Verified Partners may manage certain first-party venue information through authorized venue tools.
They do not control:
- legitimate community reports;
- LIVE states;
- Verified Activity;
- community-derived crowd information;
- community-derived queue information;
- community-derived atmosphere information;
- independent deterministic Nocturify signals.
Venue staff or partners must not pressure users to alter truthful reports.
A Verified Partner badge is not a guarantee of quality and does not give a venue preferential treatment in community-derived information.
8. Keep information relevant
Only submit information relevant to the Nocturify feature You are using.
Do not use community features for:
- advertising unrelated products;
- spam;
- political campaigning;
- personal disputes;
- unrelated promotions;
- repetitive irrelevant information;
- solicitation unrelated to the intended feature.
Nocturify is not a general-purpose social-media platform.
9. Do not harass or target individuals
You must not use Nocturify to harass, threaten, intimidate or target another person.
Do not submit information intended to:
- humiliate an identifiable person;
- threaten violence;
- encourage harassment;
- reveal private personal information;
- identify private individuals unnecessarily;
- target someone based on protected personal characteristics.
Community reporting should describe venue conditions rather than individual guests.
10. Do not share private or sensitive information
Do not submit private personal information about another person without an appropriate legal basis or authorization.
Examples include:
- email addresses;
- telephone numbers;
- home addresses;
- passwords;
- account credentials;
- identity-document information;
- financial information;
- precise private location information.
If a Nocturify feature does not require personal information, do not add it.
11. No illegal or dangerous use
You must not use Nocturify to promote, coordinate or facilitate illegal activity.
Do not use the platform to:
- facilitate violence;
- distribute illegal goods or services;
- arrange fraudulent activity;
- distribute malware;
- compromise accounts or systems;
- intentionally interfere with public safety.
Reporting that a legitimate nightlife condition exists is different from encouraging unlawful conduct.
12. No impersonation
Do not impersonate:
- another user;
- a venue;
- venue staff;
- a business owner;
- Nocturify staff;
- another organization.
Only authorized representatives may claim or manage a venue through partner functionality.
13. Venue-managed information
Authorized venue representatives may be able to manage certain information about their venue.
Venue-provided information must be:
- accurate;
- lawful;
- current;
- not misleading;
- relevant to the venue.
Do not knowingly publish false opening hours, fake events, misleading photographs, deceptive admission information or other inaccurate venue information.
Nocturify may review, correct, reject, restrict or remove venue-managed information where reasonably necessary.
14. Photos and other submitted materials
Where Nocturify allows images or other materials to be submitted, You must have the right to use them.
Do not submit:
- stolen copyrighted material;
- unlawful images;
- deceptive or materially misleading images;
- malicious files;
- content that violates another person’s rights.
Different upload features may have additional technical and moderation rules.
15. NightMiles integrity
NightMiles must be earned through legitimate qualifying activity.
You must not:
- create fake activity to earn NightMiles;
- coordinate fraudulent earning;
- exploit bugs;
- use multiple accounts to obtain duplicate rewards;
- automate reward-generating activity;
- manipulate reports for rewards.
Nocturify may refuse, reverse or remove NightMiles associated with abuse or invalid activity.
NightMiles do not expire under the current NightMiles program, but this does not create a right to retain NightMiles obtained through fraud or abuse.
16. Automated systems and scraping
Unless expressly authorized, You must not use bots, crawlers, scripts or automated tools to:
- submit reports;
- create accounts;
- manipulate signals;
- collect private information;
- systematically extract Nocturify data;
- abuse APIs or application functionality;
- interfere with service availability.
Normal use of supported accessibility technologies is not prohibited by this rule.
17. Security vulnerabilities
Do not exploit a security vulnerability for personal benefit, disruption, unauthorized access or manipulation.
If You discover a potential security issue, report it responsibly to:
support@nocturify.com
Do not publicly expose sensitive technical information where doing so could put users or the platform at risk before the issue can reasonably be addressed.
18. Moderation and enforcement
Nocturify may review suspected violations of these Guidelines.
Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, we may:
- disregard a report;
- remove or restrict submitted information;
- exclude activity from community signals;
- reverse NightMiles;
- restrict reporting;
- temporarily restrict features;
- suspend an account;
- permanently terminate an account;
- restrict venue-management privileges;
- investigate coordinated abuse.
Enforcement may take into account:
- severity;
- intent;
- frequency;
- previous violations;
- impact on users or venues;
- risk to platform integrity.
Serious abuse may result in immediate action.
19. Mistakes and good-faith reporting
Not every inaccurate report is abuse.
Nightlife conditions change quickly and reasonable users may perceive situations differently.
Nocturify distinguishes between:
- an honest mistake or reasonable difference in perception; and
- intentional manipulation, fraud or repeated abuse.
We may exclude unreliable information without treating the user as having deliberately violated these Guidelines.
20. Reporting concerns
If You believe Nocturify is being abused, or You identify fraudulent or harmful activity, contact:
support@nocturify.com
Venue-related commercial or account-management enquiries may be sent to:
business@nocturify.com
21. Changes to these Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines as Nocturify develops, new community features are introduced or new abuse patterns emerge.
The current version and effective date will be displayed with the Guidelines.
Where a material change affects the rules that apply to Your use of Nocturify, we may provide additional notice or require renewed acceptance where appropriate.
22. Relationship with other Nocturify documents
These Community Guidelines should be read together with:
- the Nocturify Terms of Service;
- the Nocturify Privacy Policy;
- the Nocturify AI Transparency information;
- the Nocturify Location & GPS Disclosure.
If these Guidelines conflict with mandatory applicable law, the applicable law prevails.
